I spent a little over 12hours in the hospital with my son, Moziah. Though it is never a pleasant experience to have, I still had to have it. I had to prep myself mentally, emotionally, and all the rest of 'allys' just to get through this unnecessarily tedious process.
You see, what I have learnt is that having patience is great but having too much is sometimes overbearing. Sitting in the hospital hallway for almost 2 hours waiting for a doctor that noone seems to know when he/she will arrive is definitely having too much patience. I sat there waiting for this doctorand started to get impatient by the fact that we have been there since 11pm Monday night and at this point is was now 8:30am Tuesday morning, yet when I asked each hospital personnel I saw passing: "do you know when the asthma doctor will get here?" or "are you the asthma doctor?" with the same reply being: "No I don't know" or "no I'm not the asthma doctor" only got me to wonder, how then will I ever know when the asthma doctor gets here if they don't know...just ridiculous!
So clearly I refused to act patient or humble as my son needed to be home with family out of this very stressful and hostile environment...yes that very environment that I took him to get help for his weezing. I had to take matters into my own hands and got up and got into the nurse's face for her to go and find out if the doctor came. Well guess what? The doctor, a beautiful Burmese, was there from morning and at this point it was some minutes to 10 in the morning. The doctor had been in her office way round the corner from where I was told to sit (where I was sitting was not even the right place). With all that we got to see the doctor, did the necessaries and got to go home!
They say patience is a virtue! But does it mean then that I was not virtuous? Because I had no time to sit and be told to sit because of the lazy system that these workers seem to want to put people under, people who come to them for help. I had no time to sit and waste while my baby's health and wellness was on the line! I didn't care what I had to do to make sure that my son got the proper treatment, even if I waited long (since we were not the only ones there) but I had to make then stop and look at me for however long and sort out my baby so we could leave for others to come in.
I'm a mother and in case you ever meet me along the way on one of my 'rainy days' such as that one, you just try and take an umbrella, because I will carry the 'wrath of God' with me if I feel that my love ones are being threatened in any way.
With all that said, this is a very rare display, even rarer than an eclipse and is not my usually temperament :) It's just to show that being patient is good, being too patient is overbearing and will get you nowhere fast but will definitely put you at the back of the line PERMANENTLY!!!!

Letting my mind breathe
It seems sometimes there are just too many things to deal with. You feel overwhelmed and exhausted. We work hard and tirelessly with little or no rest so naturally we could be tired. But sometimes it is not the physical aspects of our lives but the mental aspects, that cause us to feel week and weary..
We over work our minds, to come: to the next big idea, the find where the next meal is coming from, to plan our days efficiently so as to maximize our sixteen working hours. But it, too, results in fatigue, depression and even anxiety attacks.
We need to learn to take the time to breathe, to relax to count the stars in the sky or the grains of sand on the shore, something! Something that will allow to be easy, to not worry, to not over think but to under think, to make the brain rest a little.
Often times when I find my space too overwhelming, I usually go the hills to my favorite place:a river (any river). Though I haven't done this in years I still have the memories that I use to calm down my heated brain and it does the trick well. Though the body is unable to be at that special place, the brain can take you on that much needed journey without adding to it's, already, heavy traffic.
But this does not solve the physical problem as the body does need its rest and will eventually buckle under the pressure u apply. Therefore, I too will take a weekend off just to relax a little, to sit and watch the television or read a book, something that will allow for my entire being to be at ease.
So go ahead feel free to relax and drink a glass of wine, indulge your senses and rest the brain awhile, its is your right to do so!

Being Positive
so today, I'm thinking, how can I wake up with a more positive outlook or more positive energy? Just then I realised that it will take a continued effort, reminding myself everyday that every situation presented to me is a life lesson worth experiencing.
There are times when all we see are dark clouds without any clear silver lining, and so we think doom and dispair. But I'll tell you what my great friend, Thelma, always says: "That too shall pass..." So, no matter what you maybe going through now, it will have to come to an end. However, the quickness of that 'end' definately depends on how our minds are processing our present situations. In essence, it is how we see the situation or how fast we find a workable solution for our problems.
It simply means, that in order to put more positive energy into my life, it means that I have to make a conscious effort to do so until it becomes as easy as breathing. Therefore it all boils down to that one truly beautiful and most powerful engine ever: your brain/mind. Remember your mind is the most powerful tool we will ever possess and even in death, the brain will never be over its full capacity!
So I am charging myself and you, to be positive is to be positive. To think, live and breathe it. Let very opportunity and situation be a chance to be and safe positive!

Mantra
Mantra may be defined as :•(Sanskrit): sounds or words used in meditation to cut through discriminating thoughts so the mind can become clear.www.kwanumzen.com/misc/glossary.html"
This simply means that one can create positive utturances to clear the mind and focus on your goal at hand.
I woke up this morning and I got to thinking. I said to myself that I need to find out what is in my life or what is it that I am doing/thinking to attract negative energies into my life. I know life is about balance, but these negative energies are not to be tolerated.
It may sound weird, but what if you should try it! you know, get up each morning and like a little prayer, you speak it from ur soul, speak it with the mind and even speak it out loud. It's like an open call to the universe, "saying yes I am here ready and waiting to take advantage of my opportunities."
It also helps to you keep calm, that when certain negative things happen to remember your mantra, so as to not be distracted. For whatever our lesson in life, we should strive to learn it; even in the worst possible circumstances.
So today I challenge you to build your mantra, borrow one (if you think you can't build one)and get up get out and go breathe life into your DREAMS (my personal Mantra)!
